It was a battle with cancer that sowed the seeds for A2O2. When Anjum Singh was being treated for cancer, the reality of the toll taken not just on patients but also on their families became painfully clear. A2O2 was conceived of as a way to use art to support those affected by childhood cancer.
All proceeds from the sale will be donated to CanKids, under the guidance of Dr Ramandeep Arora (Max Saket, New Delhi). CanKids is a national NGO founded in 2004 to provide holistic support to children with cancer. It supports them through their diagnosis, treatment and recovery.
They facilitate access to care and have over a hundred support and care centres spread over 42 cities in India. They do this through funding support, providing social support staff, enhancing healthcare capacity, and advocating to ensure that childhood cancer is a priority for the public health system. In addition, they also run Home Away from Home – a low cost model where the children with cancer and their families can stay while they are undergoing treatment and a one of its kind Special school for children with cancer in Mumbai – Canshala – in partnership with Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM)
You can read more about CanKids on their website cankids.org. They currently hold valid 12A, 80G and FCRA certificates.
